Buckingham Palace – the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II opens for a few months in summer but the change – of - guards ceremony can be viewed on most days and is worth a watch.

The Tower of London, one of the most famous fortresses gives you an insight into its history as a royal palace and place of execution as well as the glorious crown jewels, it houses.
Madame Tussauds is one of the most popular tourist destinations where you can poise with the waxwork of your favourite character from history. The London Planetarium offers an enchanting view of the Universe and a fascinating audio visual-show that will capture your imagination.
Rich Heritage

London’s rich heritage can be seen at a host of museums and galleries. The Tate Modern is one of the most popular galleries displaying works from 1900 to the present time. A small walk down the south bank of the Thames takes you past the Globe Theatre of Shakespeare to the Design Museum – which is dedicated to the cutting-edge industrial design, fashion and architecture. Other museums worth a look are the Victoria and Albert Science Museums and the Natural History Museum – both in Kensington. An impressive display of artefacts awaits the tourists, in these museums.

Shopping Extravaganza

Shopping in London can be an exhilarating experience for the sheer variety of its shopping arcades. Oxford Street offers department stores such as John Lewis, Debenhams and Selfridges. Bond Street offers some exclusive brands and Knightsbridge has posh stores like Harrods – one of the finest department stores with seven floors of designer clothing, foods halls and furniture. Then there is Portobello Road Market which offers some rare antiques and vintage clothing. The open air market in Camden Town has on offer a variety of arts and crafts as well as clothing for the younger generation. The famous Charing Cross Road unfolds an exciting variety that London has to show the tourist. Piccadilly Circus is famous for its colourful, electronic advertising. Close to it is the London Trocadero which has fancy shops, bowling alleys, a cinema and some exotic places to eat, drink and dance.

Capital FM, the popular radio station hosts Europe's biggest one day pop event. Notting Hill Carnival takes over the streets of West London in August with live steel bands, decorated floats and bright costumes.
Add to that are sporting activities and events of premier footfall teams from Chelsea, Fulham, Hotspur, Arsenal and West Ham United who showcase their sporting talents. For lovers of tennis - there is the Wimbledon Championships - an extravaganza you cannot afford to miss.
